United Nations Volunteers (UNV)

Twenty five UN Volunteers are currently serving in Somalia, bringing a wide range of skills in air traffic control, civil engineering, human rights, relief operations, refugee protection, food supply, health and law.

They support the efforts of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the World Food Programme (WFP), the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The UN Volunteers serving in Somalia come from Burundi, Ghana, Italy, the Philippines, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, the United Kingdom, Nepal, Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Nigeria, Egypt, USA, Sudan and Liberia.
