The United Nations is providing support for safe community drinking water stations like this one in Jowhar. The station is enclosed to keep animals and other possible sources of contamination from the immediate surrounding area. Women and young girls arrive to refill their plastic containers from taps. Near access to village supplies can save many hours a day spent walking to and from uncertain river supplies.
