A delegation from the United Nations and International Advisory Group today paid a visit the current national reconciliation congress now going on in the former Police transport compound.

The delegation led Mr. Bruno Mpondo-Epo, Head of United Nations Political Office for Somalia (UNPOS) include Roy Mentzen of UNPOS, Bruno Lamerquis, Abdullahi Sheikh Ali, Tore Rose from UNDP. Others were the Ambassadors of Egypt, Yemen and Kenya to Somalia.

In a welcoming speech, the NGRC chairman, Hon. Ali Mahdi Mohamed expressed his gratitude to the delegates for the warm welcomed their accorded to the visiting UN and IAC delegation. He said the purpose of the visit was that the international community should follow the progress made by the congress since its beginning mid July 2007 adding that this visit was the fifth since the beginning of the congress.
