The Chairman of National Reconciliation Congress, Hon. Ali Mahdi Mohamed has today received in office here with a delegation from the International Advisory Committee (IAC) headed by Mr. Bruno Mpondo-Epo, the head of United Nations Political office for Somalia (UNPOS).

Members of IAC mission include Amb. Mohamed Ali Foum from African Union, Ms. Rina Kristmoen from the Norwegian Embassy, Mr. Adrezej Bielecki from the Belguim Embassy, Ahmed Hussein Ahmed from the League of Arab States, Mr. Fredeie J. Bategeresa and other UN officials.
The IAC mission to Mogadishu was a follow-up for previous mission that IAC came here to acquaint them about the congress on-goings and proceedings and other problems encountered if any. This is the fourth delegation from the IAC visiting the conference site at former Police Transport Compound.

After hearing a brief intervention and questions made by Mr. Bruno Mpondo-Epo, the National Reconciliation Congress Chairman, flanked by his Deputies, briefed the International Advisory Committee delegation about the achievements the congress so far reached. He said the congress has reached an agreement on social issues e.g. tribal reconciliation as the participants representation was based on 4.5 formulas. Chairman Ali Mahdi thanked the international community moral and material support the congress which he said without their support the NGRC won’t succeed its convention.
“Thanks Allah, the congress work is going as planned”, he said.
